To meet your Return of Service (ROS) commitment, your employer must deliver publicly funded healthcare services within your chosen sector. If you’re unsure whether a specific employer qualifies, please contact your Case Manager to confirm before accepting the position or reporting your hours.
Hospital (Acute Care)
A publicly funded hospital such as acute care, rehabilitation, and specialty hospitals funded by the Ministry of Health.
Home and Community Care (HCC)
An organization that delivers publicly funded home and community care services.
This includes organizations providing nursing or personal support services under contract with Ontario Health atHome, as well as community organizations that receive public funding to deliver eligible home and community care services.
Participants employed by a private for profit/not for profit agency) may be asked to provide an employer letter from your employer confirming the nursing services are provided are publicly funded.
Primary Care
A publicly funded primary care organizations that provide comprehensive, ongoing healthcare services, including
Community Health Centres (CHCs)
Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics (NPLCs)
Family Health Teams (FHTs)
Indigenous Primary Health Care Organizations
Other Ministry-funded primary care organizations.
Long-Term Care (LTC)
A licensed long-term care home operating under Ontario’s long-term care legislation.
This includes municipal, not-for-profit, and for-profit long-term care homes that are licensed and funded by the Ministry of Long-Term Care.
